Richard III in Mandarin at Shakespeare’s Globe
Richard IIIThis momentous occasion will be the National Theatre of China’s first visit to the UK. The company, which stages work in three different performance spaces in Beijing, works with the finest playwrights and directors in China. Their trailblazing productions show the new face of 21st century Chinese theatre. This production of Shakespeare's wicked horror-show of power and paranoia, will be directed by the National’s Associate Director, Wang Xiaoying.

Titus Andronicus in Cantonese at Shakespeare’s Globe
Titus AndronicusThe hybrid culture of Hong Kong informs this production of Shakespeare’s grisliest play from the eminent Hong Kong director’s outstanding and groundbreaking troupe. Described as the ‘alchemist of minimalist theatre’, Tang Shu-wing works with simple staging, voice and movement, to release the energies of classic texts. His ensemble has toured to Singapore and the US, and the Globe to Globe festival is its first visit to the UK.

Coriolanus in Japanese at Shakespeare’s Globe
CoriolanusThis renowned company from Kyoto works under the direction of one of Japan’s most imaginative artists, Motoi Miura. Known for its minimalist vision, this company produces an expressive theatre rooted in the exploration of words, sound and the human body. Celebrated for their work on Chekhov, which has proved highly successful in Russia, they are now bringing their vision of Shakespeare to England for the first time.

Incontinental
There are some things that will happen to many of us, that we just don't speak about. For example, one in a hundred people will find they suffer from faecal incontinence at some point in their lives, but most don't feel comfortable talking about it, even to their own doctors. Kazuko Hohki and company have set about trying to change that by inviting you to join them for an incontinental caberet of stories, situations, song, science and a spot of ballroom dancing in a show about control and what it means to lose it.

Eminent Hong Kong Theatre Director TANG Shu-Wing to lead a free workshop “From the Body to the Text” at Regents College on Friday 4 May 10am‐1pm
Tang Shu‐wing is one of Hong Kong’s foremost theatre visionaries. His award‐winning Titus Andronicus in Cantonese comes to the Globe Theatre as part of the World Shakespeare Festival for two performances on Thursday 3 May 2.30pm & Friday 4 May 7.30pm.
On the Friday 4 May 10am‐1pm at Regents College, Regents Park, True Heart Theatre hosts an open workshop with Tang Shu-wing where he will introduce his particular approach to the physicalisation of a text. He works with pre-verbal expressivity to construct choreography of movement and vocal expression, which is then encountered with text. Examples will be taken from Romeo & Juliet.
