Asia Triennial Manchester 2011, 1 October to 27 November 2011

Lots of other events going on but I want to highlight the film programme in particular.


Six UK premieres including Zhang Yimou's Under the Hawthorn Tree, and Dante Lam's Stool Pigeon. Other films from Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Cannes-winning director from the Philippines, Brillante Mendoza, will be visiting us to talk about his film Lola (2009). A retrospective of 6 other films will also be screened.

Other highlights include a free event led by Dong Bingfeng, Deputy Director of the Iberia Centre for Contemporary Art in Beijing at Manchester Metropolitan University.
