Looking for Chinese male actor for short play in Argentinian event: Theatre for Identity (Fringe theatre - no pay)
“At Chou's drycleaners” shows the Argentinian dictatorship from a different perspective. A young Chinese immigrant couple lament their incapacity to conceive in this extrange environment. Their private problem turns public when they find a hidden picture and become witnesses of the atrocities and horror around them.
The 15-20min play is in Chinese language, with English subtitles.
Theatre for Identity: is one of the artistic branches of the Human Rights Asociation “Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo” (Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo), from Argentina.
It is formed by actors, directors, writers, producers and technicias that assist the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo in their task of recuperating their grandchildren, stolen during the Argentinian dictatorship of the seventies.
This event is being performed in London for the first time in November, at the Calder Bookshop and Theatre, 51 The Cut, SE1.
Audition: informal chat on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after 5.30pm and anytime Saturday. Must speak either cantonese or mandarin.
Rehearsals: 3 intensive week - Oct 24th to Nov 13th
Evening performances only: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
