Artists’ Pitches for the Chinese New Year Celebrations on Sunday 29th January 2012

2012 welcomes the auspicious Year of the Dragon and Sunday 29th January 2012 will see London celebrate in style with a one-day festival featuring a Dragon parade through the streets of Soho, performances on a spectacular stage in Trafalgar Square as well as the lion dances throughout the day in Chinatown.



This year will see Charing Cross Road and Shaftsbury Avenue pedestrianised during the London Chinese New Year celebrations, opening up an exciting opportunity for artists’ pitches. We are in the final stages of selecting our performances for the artists’ pitches so please send your submission to be considered!

This is a great opportunity for emerging British East Asian performers. We are able to consider a diverse range of performance styles including and not limited to; musical performances (vocal and/or instrumental), live / interactive / performance art, martial arts demonstrations, theatre / performance pieces and dance collectives.

The artists’ pitches will be open air designated cordoned off areas on Charing Cross Road and Shaftsbury Avenue without a raised platform, so the performance area is on street level. Performances must have a Chinese connection, i.e the performers are Chinese / East Asian or the performance has a Chinese element.

There is no fee available but we welcome performers to promote themselves. Full terms will be available if you selected to perform.
