Classic film Piccadilly gets new contemporary score
Event details: Piccadilly Revisited Free open air film and music performance at the Thames Festival Saturday 12th September, 8.15pm – 10pm East Façade, Royal Festival Hall
The classic 1929 movie, Piccadilly, starring the iconic Anna Mae Wong, has been treated to a daring new score, combining cutting edge live electronic music with Chinese instrumentation and Western classical influences. The performance will include live sampling, looping and innovative techniques for playing Chinese instruments
The film will be shown, and the score performed live by composers Ruth Chan and Suki Mok, as part of the Thames Festival on Saturday 12th September.
