Song of the Fishermen at the decibel showcase
Musicians and composers Chi2 (Liz and Sarah Liew), Jiang Li and Kimho Ip bring together their contrasting styles in this exciting fusion of Western and Eastern musical styles.
Their performance unites Chinese instruments (yangchin, liuqin, erhu) with violin, cello and keyboards, alongside a plethora of Chinese percussions and ethereal vocals.
The score accompanies the screening of the classic Chinese silent film Song of the Fishermen (Yuquang qu, Shanghai 1934).
